Xiaomi is set to announce a new smartphone in India on November 2. Although the Chinese smartphone maker hasn’t revealed the device it will be announcing, but has confirmed that the upcoming Xiaomi phone will be part of a whole new series altogether. Ahead of announcing the new phone, Xiaomi’s a couple of month old flagship device – Mi Max 2 gets a price cut of Rs 1,000. Mi Max 2 was launched in India at a starting price of Rs 14,999. But now, after the price cut, Mi Max 2 is available at a starting price of Rs 13,999 on Mi e-store and also on other e-commerce channels.
Xiaomi announced the Mi Max 2 in August this year. The device was first launched in India, and later brought to India. In India, Xiaomi launched two variants of the Mi Max 2. One of them comes with 4GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage, while the second variant includes 4GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage. Xiaomi India announced the price cut via a tweet on Monday.
The 32GB model was launched at a price of Rs 14,999, while the latter – the one with the 64GB storage was announced at a price tag of Rs 16,999. But now, both the variants of the Mi Max 2 are available at a cheaper price – as it gets a price cut of Rs 1,000. After the slashed prices, Mi Max 2 – 32GB model now costs Rs 13,999, while the 64GB variant comes with a price tag of Rs 15,999.

Going by the specifications, Xiaomi Mi Max 2 features an all-metal unibody design and comes with a fingerprint sensor – which is placed at the rear panel, right next to the camera set-up. The Mi Max 2 comes with a screen size of — 6.44 inch 1080p display, which is further protected via a Gorilla Glass 3 on top. When compared to its predecessor aka Mi Max – the Mi Max 2 features smaller bezels and boasts a sleeker design.
On the hardware front, the Mi Max 2 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 processor and comes coupled with 4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage. In the camera department, the Mi Max 2 comes with a 12-megapixel rear camera that uses the IMX 376 image sensor. On the front, the smartphone features a 5-megapixel camera.
Coming to the software department, Mi Max 2 runs on Xiaomi’s own MIUI software on top of Android Nougat. There’s also a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, an IR blaster and stereo speakers. The phone’s key USP is its massive 5,300 mAh battery set-up — which as Xiaomi claims lasts for straight two-days on a single charge. Read our Mi Max 2 review to know more.
