Xiaomi is working on Redmi 4A successor aka Redmi Note 5A and the phone was even spotted on TENAA certification website recently. While earlier there were speculations that Xiaomi could launch the phone on August 21, now the company itself has confirmed that the phone will be launched on August 21 i.e. coming Monday at 7:30pm(China time) at an event in China .

Coming back to the specs of the phone, the upcoming Redmi Note 5A is expected to sport a 5.5-inch display and with HD display and 720 x 1280 pixel resolution. The phone could be powered by  a 1.4 GHz quad-core processor coupled with 2GB. The TENAA listing further reveals that the phone could come with 16GB internal storage that’s expandable up to 32GB  via microSD card.

The Redmi Note 5A could come with a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front-facing camera. The phone will run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with Xiaomi’s MIUI 8 skin on top. The smartphone could be backed by a 3000mAh battery. The connectivity options include 4G-LTE/VoLTE, WiFi, GPS/A-GPS, Bluetooth and a micro USB port. The colour variants listed for the phone are- Rose Gold, White, Red, Blue, Grey, Silver, Black and Gold. The Redmi 4A sells for Rs 5,999 so we can expect the Redmi Note 5A to be priced on the same lines.

Alongside, Xiaomi is also working on Redmi Note 4 successor dubbed as Redmi Note 5. The phone was even leaked online giving away its important specs like the phone would boast a full metal body and fingerprint sensor placed at the front instead of  the back as seen in Redmi Note 4.

The leak suggests that the Redmi Note 5 could come with 5.5-inch 1080p screen alike its successor and reportedly be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor. There could be two variants of the phone- 3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB ROM. The phone could come with USB Type-C and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. The speculations suggest that the phone could sport a 16MP camera on the rear and a 13mp camera on the front. The phone could reportedly be backed by a 3790mAh battery and support QuickCharge. The phone will most probably run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat based MIUI. The Redmi Note 4 was launched at Rs 10,999 and 12,999 for two variants. The Redmi Note 5 could also be priced on similar lines.
