Starting with the official teaser, Lau has not revealed the name or anything else about the upcoming handset. However, speculations are being drawn based on the share gif, which reads “Fast and Sm…th,” with the silhouette of a phone in the background, which resembles the number 7. The three dots in smooth is speculated to be a hint towards the three different smartphone models OnePlus could launch this year. A previous report suggests that OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro and the OnePlus 5G phones could be announced on May 14.

Additionally, the emphasis on ‘smooth’ in Lau’s tweet is speculated to be a hint towards a higher refresh rate display. The leaked specs of the OnePlus 7 Pro by @IshanAgarwal suggest that the smartphone could come equipped with Quad HD+ Super AMOLED “90hz” display. While not entirely clear, the silhouette of the phone in the gif’s background also tips at a curved display that wraps around the edges. Similar design of the alleged OnePlus 7 Pro was outed in a leaked image, where the phone’s display can be seen wrapping around the edge of the display and as per @OnLeaks, the OnePlus 7 Pro features a 6.64-inch curved display with a pop-up front camera, while the OnePlus 7 would sport a flat 6.4-inch screen with a waterdrop notch display design.

The three dots in the gif are also said to be a hint towards a triple-rear camera setup on the OnePlus 7 handsets. However, the new leaks by the two tipster suggests that while the OnePlus 7 could come equipped with a dual rear camera setup with a 48MP primary sensor, the OnePlus 7 Pro is said to feature a triple rear camera setup with a 48MP primary sensor, a secondary telephoto lens and an ultra-wide tertiary camera.

Additional details about the OnePlus 7 Pro includes Warp charge support at 30W, along with a 4000mAH battery, dual speaker setup, and USB 3.1 connectivity. @IshanAgarwal also claims that OnePlus is equipping newer vibration motors in the OnePlus 7 series for providing better haptic feedback, and that the launch event of OnePlus will take place simultaneously in New York, UK and Bengaluru on May 14
