Logically speaking, after OnePlus 3T, OnePlus should have been working on OnePlus 4. But, that’s not what’s happening, instead, the company is skipping OnePlus 4. Do you know why? Neither do we. Its several speculations claim that the Chinese smartphone maker happens to skip the OnePlus 4 and jump directly to OnePlus 5 and that’s because of any technical glitches or something, but due to a Chinese superstitious belief, which refers ‘number 4’ to be an extremely unlucky number. Well, whatever it may be the reason, speculations about the next OnePlus flagship has already started making rounds on the web. Hence the assumption.
Rumours about the making of OnePlus 5 has been making rounds for quite sometime now. Previous leaks just tipped OnePlus 5 in the making. But, now a new leak reveals a few specifications about the upcoming smartphone. It provides a rough sketch of how the OnePlus 5, if it’s really in works may look like, along with the camera, processor and so much more.
Renders reveal that the OnePlus 5 is going to be powered by Qualcomm’s latest processor, which also juices the recently announced Samsung flagships – Galaxy S8 and S8+ – the Snapdragon 835 SoC, reports Gizmochina. Well, not only the OnePlus 5, the next Xiaomi flagship – Xiaomi Mi 6 is also expected to come with the latest processor.
Apart from revealing information about the processor, the leak also suggests that the upcoming OnePlus 5 will come packed with 8GB of RAM. However, a previously leaked report tips 6GB of RAM with 64GB of expandable internal storage onboard. Quad HD (2K) display is also in the pipeline.
Renders further reveal that OnePlus 5 will sport 5.5-inch full HD display with a high screen-to-body ratio, which is most likely a possibility. While on the camera front, OnePlus 5 is likely to feature a dual-rear camera setup. Wherein the flagship smartphone is going to feature a 23-megapixel rear view camera, while on the front fit a 16-megapixel selfie shooter in order to deliver the best ever shooting experience to the users.
Further, running on Android Nougat OS, the device could possibly be backed by a 3,000mAh battery and may also come with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The list just doesn’t end there, OnePlus 5 is also rumoured to boast a USB Type-C port, fast charging, and wireless charging capability.
Well, for now, these are just speculations that several leaksters have been posting and hence should be taken with a pinch of salt. However, if OnePlus 5 is really in the making, the smartphone is expected to have a tough battle with the other smartphones of the similar race like the lately announced Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+, or may be the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 6.
