OnePlus 5 users are now receiving Oxygen software update bumping the software version to OxygenOS 4.5.7. The roll out began from July 31, 2017 and will reach the phones gradually considering it’s an OTA update. It will reach a small percentage of users in a day, and we’ll begin a broader rollout in a few days.

The OxygenOS 4.5.7 brings several upgrades the software including the  EIS (Electronic Image Stabilisation) for 4k video recording. EIS adds additional stabilisation  by reducing the shakes and enable smoother video recording. The update also brings standby battery enhancements as part as our on-going optimizations of the OnePlus 5’s battery life.

OnePlus 5 users will also get an all new OnePlus Slate font. Please note that this font will not replace the existing font but can be chosen as option from the Font tab under Settings menu.

The changelog further includes Wi-Fi connectivity improvements, smoother automatic backlight adjustment and standby battery enhancements. There’s also an updated Android security patch and an updated GMS package.

The OxygenOS 4.5.7 also brings few bug fixes like the fixing of the sound being played out in the speakers occasionally when earphones are plugged in. The camera shutter sound bug in silent mode for Indian region has also been fixed. Further there is also a bug fix for the missing sound channels when recording videos.

OnePlus 5 has been in news for couple of controversies since its launch. Many users have complained that the phone reboots when the emergency call number 911 is dialled. Users also complained of jelly effect seen while scrolling through the screen. However, this controversy later died down with no resolution or explanations from the company .

OnePlus 5 was launched in June with a price tag of Rs 32,999 for the base variant. The smartphone comes in two storage variants- 6 GB RAM with 64GB internal memory and 8GB RAM with 128GB internal memory. The device is powered by Octacore Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor paired with Adreno 540. The OnePlus 5 runs Android 7.1.1 and sports a 5.5 inches screen.
