OnePlus launched its new phone around a week ago. This phone, called OnePlus 3T, is an updated version of the OnePlus 3. The update is not all that big. There are minor changes here and there. The phone has a marginally faster processor — Snapdragon 821 — compared to the Snapdragon 820 in the OnePlus 3. It also has a bigger battery and it comes with a 16-megapxiel front camera. But other than that the OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T are more or less the same thing.

The OnePlus 3T is yet to arrive in India. But the device is going on sale in the US today and consequently its review too are coming in. Here at the IndiaToday Tech we will take a better look at the device when it comes to India, it is expected to launch in India in December, but for now take a look at what experts are saying about the OnePlus 3T.

How OnePlus 3T compares to OnePlus 3: Here is what The Verge says

For $40 more, you get a phone with better battery life; for $80 more, you get that better battery life and twice as much storage. The OnePlus 3T remains the best overall smartphone value you can buy, when balancing performance, features, and experience versus price.

Engadget says the new phone fixes flaws of OnePlus 3

The OnePlus 3T improves things about the original that were slightly lacking, such as battery life, and amps up on performance and software, making it a strong option for power users. As a replacement for an existing flagship, the OnePlus 3T is a refinement that not only feels timely, but also well-planned and executed. You’d have a hard time finding a better phone for the price.

XDA Developers agrees with Engadget

If I had to summarize the OnePlus 3T in one statement, it’d be that OnePlus managed to make a great thing even better. Either directly or indirectly, the improvements that the company applied to the 3T are also things that many people complained about with the first release… In terms of hardware, the OnePlus 3T is one of the best devices of 2016 regardless of the price, but it’s an even sweeter deal given it’s still nearly half the price of the Pixel XL with the same storage configuration.

Wired says it is very similar to the OnePlus 3

Wired gave the OnePlus 3 a 9/10 rating and it appeared the brand lived up to its name as an ‘Apple killer’ with the launch of the flagship device. The 3T is merely a continuation of this, with some better features such as the improved front camera and battery, but overall it hasn’t deviated much from the design of the earlier device.

Sum of them all

Overall, the reviews of the OnePlus 3T are highly positive, which is not a surprise given the fact that OnePlus 3 is a solid device. The camera in the OnePlus 3T is seemingly better and better life too is better. Rest of all, is more or less same compared to the OnePlus 3. But at the same time, some reviews also rightly question the price increase. The OnePlus 3T is as good as the OnePlus 3 but slightly more expensive. For most users the extra seems to be worth it, but then that also seemingly diminish some of the value that the OnePlus 3 offers at the moment.
