Lenovo-owned Moto has launched two new Moto Mods for its Moto Z smartphone. The company has launched Mophie battery mod and Incipio car dock mod for the latest phones. The Mophie mod is the second battery mod from the company.
The Mophie Moto Mod, priced at $79.99 (approx Rs 5,500), comes with bigger battery at 3000mAh compared to earlier battery mod. The company says it can offer 60 per cent more battery to the phone. The new battery mod has an indicator light and comes with USB Type-C port for charging.
The Incipio car dock mod is, well, a car dock. You can stick it the back of your phone, just like other mods, and then clip it into the car’s air conditioning vent. When connected to the car, the Insipio mod also connects to the car’s audio system and keeps the phone charged.
The Incipio car dock mod also allows you to hold the phone in horizontal or vertical position. Once the phone is docked, it launches Android Auto. It is priced at $65 (approx Rs 4,500).
Moto is planning to launch more mods in 2017. It said that it will launch four mods each quarter. The company is also running an Indiegogo campaign to encourage mod development.
Motorola had first introduced Moto Mods at the launch of Moto Z and Moto Z Force phones in June this year. The company had launched JBL SoundBoost, Insipio battery and Insta-share projector mods at that time. Later the company added Hasselblad True Zoom Moto Mod in the mix.
The company sells the earlier four Moto mods in India with price starting at Rs 6,999 for JBL SoundBoost and go up to Rs 19,999 for the Insta-share and Hasselblad mods.
Lenovo launched Moto Z and Moto Z Play smartphones in India October. The company enjoys popularity in the Indian market due to its quality and prices. The Moto Z is priced Rs 39,999 and the Moto Z Play sells for Rs 24,999.
