Soon after launching its Canvas Infinity phone — that comes with an unusual 18:9 edge-to-edge screen — home grown brand Micromax has launched its first tablet of the year, the Canvas Plex Tab, in India in collaboration with Eros International’s digital platform Eros Now. The Micromax Canvas Plex Tab has been launched in India at a price of Rs 12,999 and will be available for buying from physical retail stores across the country from September 1.
The Micromax Canvas Plex Tab comes with an 8-inch HD screen and DTS sound audio tech. The tablet further comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The USP feature of the Canvas Plex Tab, according to Micromax, is that it “comes with one-year premium subscription of Eros Now content.” “Users will also have access to a range of exciting features including full length movies, thematic curated playlists, multi-language subtitles for movies, music video playlists, regional language filters, video progression and access to a watch list of titles,” according to the company.
“From flying around the world to taking the metro to work, one needs to stay entertained during the journey. With affordable 4G plans available, consumers access entertainment like never before and carrying a tab would almost be like carrying a mini Cineplex on the go. Canvas Plex is our endeavour to bring to our users, content and associations which add value to their overall entertainment experience. We are pleased to partner Eros Now, which is one of the leading players in the Indian entertainment space, with excellent assortment of Bollywood and regional content,” Vikas Jain, co-founder, Micromax Informatics Limited said.
Micromax launched the Canvas Infinity phone — a phone with an unusual 18:9 edge-to-edge screen and other top features — in India recently at a price of Rs 9,999. The Canvas Infinity phone focuses a great deal on design and camera capabilities. The USP feature of the Infinity phone, however, is its unusual display that boasts of an unusual aspect ratio of 18:9 as opposed to a regular 16:9, something that has already been commercialized by South Korean giants Samsung and LG. But while the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the LG G6 cost Rs 60,000 and Rs 40,000 respectively, the Infinity phone from Micromax, because it is priced so aggressively, brings edge-to-edge screens to the masses. The Canvas Infinity costs just Rs 9,999 and will be an Amazon India-exclusive in the country.
