Just a week ago Meizu M5 was launched in India. The Chinese smartphone maker has unveiled the successor of M5, Meizu M5c today. Like the Meizu M5, the newly launched Meizu M5c is also announced only in China at present, however may enter other markets, including India in the upcoming months like M5. The new Meizu M5c is announced in several colour options including — black, blue, red, pink and gold. the pricing details of the device is still unknown to us, which Meizu may unveil in the days to come.
In terms of specifications, Meizu M5c comes packed with a polycarbonate unibody design and sports a 5-inch HD display which comes with a resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels. The smartphone is further powered by a 64-bit quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz, along with Mali T720 GPU and is coupled with 2GB RAM memory. Storage wise, the new Meizu M5c comes with 16GB of internal storage, which is said to be an expandable one up to 128GB via a microSD card.
On the optics front, the Meizu M5c sports an 8-megapixel camera on the rear panel, while on the front the device comes packed with a 5-megapixel selfie shooter. The primary camera of the device also packs features like — 4-element lens, ISP technology, f/2.0 aperture, LED flash. On the other hand the camera is also capable of shooting 720p slow-motion video.
Meizu M5c comes equipped with several other features like — AI engine, named as OneMind and is backed by a 3,000mAh non-removable battery, which delivers a decent battery backup. Further, the device also comes with dual-SIM (dual standby) 4G LTE, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS/AGPS, a microUSB port and runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system.
On the other hand, Meizu M5 sports a 5.2-inch screen with the 720p and 2.5D glass protection. The smartphone comes with a fully-laminated HD display, IPS technology, and integrated blue light filter which has the ability to automatically adjust blue light emission to reduce eye strain, highlight Meizu. Meizu M5 32GB variant is powered by an octa-core processor.
Furthermore, M5 comes with a powerful battery of 3070mAh providing a long standby time. The device also offers an improved battery optimization with Flyme operating system, and also ensures that the battery lasts even longer. M5 comes equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera which comes equipped with a large f/2.0 aperture. The smartphone is launched in India in two colour variants — blue and gold.
Meizu M5 was originally launched in China back in October last year at 700 CNY which is roughly around Rs 7,000, but in India the device costs around Rs 10,499. That being said, Meizu M5c will be available at a much cheaper price when compared to the Meizu M5.
