Lenovo’s next K-Note phone will be called the K8 Note, and not the K7 Note. The K8 Note will launch in India on August 9. The company is now in the process of sending out invites to the media for a press conference to be held in the National Capital on the said date where it will launch the phone. Lenovo has been teasing the phone for some time now on social media channels but there has been some confusion regarding the naming since the phone is technically to succeed the K6 Note.

Little is known about the K8 Note for now, although the phone was recently spotted on benchmark website Geekbench. As per the listing, the phone will be powered by a 1.3GHz deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 processor clubbed with 3GB of RAM. It will further run Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. Although these are not official specs, Lenovo is known to tease certain key aspects of its major phones ahead of launch. We expect something same with the K8 Note as well.

The incumbent K6 Note comes with a full-metal body and would remind you of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 (and the Redmi Note 4) from a looks point of view. It comes with chamfered edges and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. It comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p display and is powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor clubbed with 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. It runs Android Marshmallow out-of-the-box with Lenovo’s custom skin on top. The dual-SIM phone further supports 4G LTE connectivity.

The K6 Note sports a 16-megepaixel camera on the rear with phase detection autofocus and dual-LED flash alongside an 8-megapixel front camera. It is backed by a 4,000mAh battery and supports fast charging.
