Nokia’s confirmation that it would be making a comeback in smartphone business was enough to give solid ground to several rumours out and piling since long. Then it said it would be an Android smartphone, while Nokia D1C did the rounds. We even have its rumored price: around Rs 10,000.

But there has been an air of mystery surrounding Nokia’s flagship smartphone. Given that Nokia would first want to walk before it can run (with the new software), it is predictable that the company won’t make biggies like Samsung and Google as its rival straight away. Yet, whatever we have been hearing about the rumoured Nokia C1 is taking shape and breaking paradigm.

Fresh renders and specs of the phone have been listed on Chinese blog Weibo and bring the phone closer to reality. It appears to be a big screen device with an almost bezel-less front and a dual camera setup at the back, with two set of flash lights: triple-tone LED and Xenon flash. There is a dedicated camera button along with power button on one side while the volume rocker is on the other.

Nokia C1 could well be a camera centric smartphone, the specs saying it has 16megapixel+12megapixel rear camera and a 5megapixel front camera. Further specs for under the hood hardware hints the placement of smartphone to be among the high end segment. It would run the latest Qualcomm chipset, the Snapdragon 830 with 4GB RAM and 32GB, 64GB and 128GB storage options. A 3,210mAh battery again suggests the concept Nokia C1 will be a big screen device.

The phone is said to run Android Nougat 7.1.1 straight out of the box, and Nokia will keep the stock interface for use. If at all the phone become real, it will probably be manufactured by Nokia’s manufacturing partner Foxconn. The company named HMD, formed its transition from Microsoft, is now the official brand licensee of Nokia and has already come out with their first device: a $26 (Rs 1,763) feature phone.
