Here’s how it works: Once you have downloaded and installed the app, you can add people from phone’s list to the trusted list. Trusted contacts can now closely monitor your status and movements. They will also be able to track your activity status like if you’ve moved around recently and are online. You can also share your location with your trusted contacts in the event of any emergency. Not only this, even your trusted contacts can request for your location in case you fail to notify them for some reasons. If everything’s fine, you can deny the request. But if you’re unable to respond within a given timeframe, your location is shared automatically with your closed ones. However, you can stop  sharing your location or change your trusted contacts whenever you want. The app works even when offline. Not only location, your trusted contacts can also know if you’re phone battery is drained and can find alternatives for your in case of any emergency.

The app is available for both Android and iOS and can be downloaded from Play Store. Though there many other similar app available in the Play Store but Google’s Trusted Contacts serves more than just alarming others in case of an emergency.Other apps which are available in Play Store for personal security are bSafe, EmergenSee, SOS etc. Facebook also has a security check feature which allows user to mark himself safe in the case of any emergency.
