Special features

— While the ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro comes with a full-metal body, the ZenFone 4 Selfie dual camera version and the ZenFone 4 Selfie standard version come with metallic finish. All the three phones come with a front-mounted fingerprint scanner. Of the three, the ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro comes with an unspecified version of Corning Gorilla Glass on the front.

— All the three phones are selfie-focused phones which is even highlighted by their naming convention. The ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro may be considered as the flagship selfie phone in Asus’s new ZenFone 4 line-up. It comes with a full, metal body which is quite slim and light — almost 7mm and 145 gram — and a front-mounted fingerprint scanner along with physical capacitive keys which are also backlit. Also, the ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro seems to have outstanding selfie credentials, at least on paper.

— On the front, the ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro comes with a dual camera system (24MP plus 5MP) wherein the primary lens is a Sony IMX362 with an f1.8 aperture. Now technically, the resolution you’ll see shooting your selfies would be 12MP, but the ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro uses what Asus calls DuoPixel tech that uses two separate photo diodes to shoot the same image and combine the two into one final 24MP image post processing. The tech, just so you know, is different from the one employed in Asus’s Super resolution photos that essentially stitches four photos into one final ‘super-resolution’ photo. The dual camera system on-board the front of the ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro further comes with PDAF, a soft flash and is capable of shooting in 4K.

— The ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro, the ZenFone 4 Selfie, and the ZenFone 4 Selfie basic edition all allow users to live stream a prettier version of theirself on social media channels like Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. The BeautyLive app, that comes pre-bundled with these phones, is exclusive to the phones and cannot be copied or transferred for use in another smartphone, claims Asus. “Just like digital makeup foundation and glamour, the BeautyLive feature smooths facial blemishes in real time and streams your live selfie video on popular social media platforms,” according to the company.

— All the three phones are dual-SIM phones that come with a micro-USB port for charging and data syncing. The ZenFone 4 Selfie dual camera version and the ZenFone 4 Selfie standard version come with three separate slots, while the ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro has a hybrid slot.
