At WWDC 2017, held on June 5, 2017, Apple introduced their latest iOS 11 operating system along with a host of new hardware updates including an all new 10.5-inch iPad Pro. Apple also announced iterative updates to the MacBook and iMac, with the whole range getting Intel’s 7th generation Kaby Lake chipsets along with specification bumps here and there. The Macbook Air also received a minor spec bump.
More than a month later, the new Macbooks, iMacs and iPads are all set to go on sale in India. Apple has revealed the pricing details of its new line-up of products and has also confirmed that they will be available in stores and e-commerce platforms starting today.
The new 10.5-inch iPad Pro is available in two configurations – Wifi only and WiFi + Cellular. Both are offered in 64GB, 256GB and 512GB variants. The WiFi only 64GB variant is priced at Rs 52,990, the 256GB model is available for Rs 60,900 and the 512GB model retails for Rs 76,900.
The Wi-Fi + Cellular models of the 10.5-inch iPad Pro cost Rs 11,000 more across all storage configurations. Thus the 64GB, 256GB and 512GB models are available for Rs 63,900, Rs 71,900 and Rs 87,900 respectively.
The 12.9-inch iPad Pro is also available in both Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi + Cellular configurations, with both available in 64GB, 256GB and 512GB storage variants. The WiFi only configuration costs Rs 65,900, Rs 73,900 and Rs 83,900 for the 64GB, 256GB and 512GB models.
Just like 10.5-inch iPad Pro, you pay Rs 11,000 extra for cellular privileges. Thus the 64GB, 256GB and 512GB variants of the Cellular model are priced at Rs 76,900, Rs 84,900 and Rs 1,00,900 respectively.
The 13-inch MacBook Pro with and without TouchBar, which was released last year has been upgraded to Intel’s latest generation of Core processors along with RAM, storage and other upgrades.
The 13-inch MacBook Pro without TouchBar comes in two storage variants – 128GB and 256GB. The former has been priced at Rs 1,04,900 and the latter at Rs 1,21,100. The model with Touchbar comes in 256GB and 512GB storage configurations, with the former retailing for Rs 1,47,900 and the latter for Rs 1,64,100. The 15-inch MacBook Pro with TouchBar costs Rs 1,95,800 for the 256GB variant and Rs 2,28,100 for the 512GB variant.
Apple has also updated the iMacs with the latest chipsets from Intel and better Retina displays. The 21.5-inch iMac without Retina display starts at Rs 90,200 while the model with the high-res Retina display starts at Rs 1,06,400. The 27.5-inch iMac with retina display starts at Rs 1,23,700.
Apple MacBook, MacBook Air
The refreshed 12-inch MacBook comes in two storage variants – the 256GB model has been priced at Rs 1,04,800 and the 512GB model retails for Rs 1,28,700.
Lastly, Apple also gave a minor update to the MacBook Air – while it does not come with the latest Kaby Lake chipsets, Apple has increased the clock speed of the Core i5 Broadwell chip from 1.6Ghz to 1.8Ghz. The 128GB variant has been priced at Rs 80,900 while the 256GB variant has been priced at Rs 96,900.
