Hot on the heels of updating the iPad Air 2, Apple has silently given its marquee desktop machine, aka the Mac Pro a reshuffle as well. The Mac Pro will be available in two upgraded configurations now with the base model still costing the same, which is Rs 2,49,900. The top-tier Mac Pro will however cost Rs 3,29,900 post the upgrade.
The base Mac Pro is now powered by a 3.5GHz hexa-core Intel Xeon E5 processor, Dual AMD FirePro D500 GPUs and 16 gigs of RAM. Previously, the same model came with a 4-core CPU and 12 gigs of RAM.
The top-tier Mac Pro, meanwhile, is now powered by a 3.0GHz octa-core Intel Xeon E5 processor, Dual AMD FirePro D700 GPUs and 16 gigs of RAM.
Both the Mac Pro models, notably, support 32GB/64GB of additional RAM via four 8GB or four 16GB modules respectively. Both the models further come with 256GB of storage which is expandable by up to 512GB or 1TB respectively.
Apple, only recently, replaced the 9.7-inch iPad Air 2 with a new 9.7-inch iPad that’s more powerful and yet cheaper than its predecessor. The iPad starts at Rs 28,900 for the base 32GB with Wi-Fi version going all the way up to Rs 39,900 for the top-end 32GB Wi-Fi + Cellular version. The new iPad carries much of the same specifics as the iPad Air 2 replacing only the chipset inside. It gets a faster A9 chip as opposed to the older A8X chip inside the iPad Air 2.
At the same time, Apple also doubled the storage inside last year’s iPhone SE. The 16GB and 64GB versions of the iPhone SE have been upgraded to 32GB and 128GB respectively. Rest of the hardware remains the same.
Last but not the least; Apple also introduced a new colour option – red — for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The new special edition of the iPhone 7(and iPhone 7 Plus) has been launched in partnership with Product (RED).
