Lenovo on Monday officially rolled out the Android Nougat update for the Z2 Plus and the P2 phones and with it, the company now claims that all its 2017 phones are now on Android 7.0. Last month, Lenovo had rolled out the update for the K6 power and the K6 note. “Lenovo has completed rolling out the latest Android 7.0 Nougat update to the entire 2017 range of Lenovo smartphones with Lenovo Z2 plus and P2 smartphones also getting this now,” the company said in a statement.

Android 7.0 Nougat brings a slew of changes to Lenovo’s 2017 phones, including multi-window support, improved data saving, cleaner looking notifications and the ability to reply from the notification bar itself without opening any app. “One can also quickly switch between apps just by double tapping the recent apps button. You can now change the size on the font or display itself and make easier to read or get more information on the screen when you make the font & display small,” the company said.

Lenovo said the new update will specifically bring additional functionalities including a manual camera mode, ability to launch apps with the fingerprint reader, screen recorder and Video over LTE mode to the Z2 Plus.

The Z2 Plus is notably the cheapest Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 (2.5Ghz quad-core) powered smartphone in India. It is available in two RAM variants: 3GB and 4GB. It is built out of fiber glass — boasting of a roll cage design — which is stronger and lighter than metal, as per the company.

Activity tracking is also one of the USPs of the Z2 Plus, according to the company. The phone comes with something called as U-Health that basically makes use of Qualcomm’s sensor hub (and always-on) capability to track users’ steps, distance travelled, calories burnt and more. Lenovo is banking on the fact that since the functionality comes built-in to the phone users won’t need to buy a separate fitness tracker, should you buy the Z2 Plus.
